Tim's extensive knowledge and expertise of the cast metals industry, together with his strategic and creative thinking and forward planning, has assisted with the writing of specific course subject material for M&C.
Qualifications - BSc(Hons) Material Technology, City & Guilds Part 3 Certificate in Advanced CAD, Diploma in Economics, MBA, IIM Cert in Industrial Management, HND Cast Metals Technology, City & Guilds Full Technology Certificate in Foundry & Patternshop Technology.
Professional Engineering Institutions - Fellow of Institute of Cast Metal Engineers (GICME), Incorporated Engineer with Engineering Council (IEng), IOSH - Managing Safety.
President of the Yorkshire Branch of the IBF (2001).
Educational Experience - Tim took up a role as part time tutor for the Higher Education Sector where he created speciality modules for the Foundation Degree in Cast Metals.
Previous Experience - Tim, throughout his career, has progressed through the ranks from technician, manager through to holding chief executive positions.
In his executive roles he has implemented instructions from the National Council, working alongside the Engineering Council to maintain their licensing agreement. He also instigated internal meetings to plan how to advance developing relationships with the industry and associated organisations to work together.
Tim has also "hands-on" technical experience where he held a variety of roles from foundry technician, sand technician, foundry manager, metallurgist, applications engineer, technical manager before taking up senior management roles. He has worked with many types of materials including cast iron, aluminium alloys, oil sand, CO2 silicate, greensand, natural bonded greensand to name just a few.
