Dr Peter Davies PGCE, PhD, BSc(Hons)

Lead Academic/Head of Projects

Peter provides Academic support with experience gained from a wide variety of roles in Teaching and Non-Profit Organisations.  This has given him a passion and appreciation for education issues from Key Stage 3 to Level 8 of the Qualifications and Credit Framework.  Peter's experience has also enabled him to appreciate the inter-dependency between employee lifelong learning and the ability of industry to sustain economic competitiveness.

Qualifications - Qualified Teacher Status, PGCE in Secondary Science (Physics), PhD in Engineering/Material Science, BSc(Hons) in Metallurgy & Microstructural Engineering.

Professional and Educational Bodies - Peter has interacted with awarding bodies, schools, colleges, universities, resource developers, industry and funding bodies/agencies, such as Edexcel, OCR, AQA, Nuffield Foundation, Gatsby, ASE, National Science Learning Centre, Higher Education Academy, Polymer Training Ltd., Cognet, MetSkills, Learned Societies, Science Council and ECUK.

Previous Experience - During his working career Peter has undertaken a variety of roles and has been responsible for building and developing client relationships, developing educational and promotional literature, building databases and commenting on appropriate and relevant market trends, and implementing strategies for UK and overseas educational and professional development activities.

As an experienced educationalist Peter continues to successfully contribute to growing activities and achievements of a diverse portfolio of products and has the ability to develop appropriate relationships to achieve successful outcomes.

Peter firmly believes it is important for all students to be encouraged to work hard and aim high.  He consistently has high expectations of students, provides support to those facing challenges and encourages students to succeed by fostering a 'can do' attitude.  He considers listening, adapting and developing appropriate teaching styles benefits the learning of all students
